Change to Commercial Passenger Vehicle Service Levy rate

From 1 July 2023, the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Service Levy (CPVSL) rate will change from $1.05 (ex GST) to $1.15 (ex GST).

This means that the CPVSL rate that you see on your trip(s) will raise from $1.16 (inc GST) to $1.25 (Inc GST)

The change is due to indexation and is in accordance with section 238 of the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Industry Act 2017.

Eureka Taxis has not been formally notified of this change by eithor the regulator (CPVV) or from the State Revenue Office (SRO) and have found this out from industry sources.

The CPVSL was introduced on 1 July 2018 and applies to every taxi and hire car trip, including ride share, originating in Victoria.

Taxi driver charges us twice the quoted tariff and our booking included return pick up from newington Park that didn’t show. When I phoned Eureka dispatch they said there was no record of our return booking. Suspect the driver charged for return fare then cancelled our booking. My wife and I waited in the cold and ended up getting an uber. Can not reccomend Eureka cabs, further insult was added by an abusive reply message from the owner of Eureka, I can assure the owner that we phoned your Eureka taxi despatch centre, did not book online, my wife witnessed the conversation. The lady I spoke to in despatch was very polite and courteous and made 2 bookings, one for a pick up from colonial motor inn which arrived on time. If was definitely Eureka taxi service. The owner stated there was no booking record, then threatened me to take our review down. Will dissuade all our friends from using their service. I also have proof that Eureka taxis was the service we used, and have a record of the debit from our account from Eureka taxi. I suggest as owner you check why our booking disappeared from your records, pretty bad audit trail. As a small rural business owner myself, I am appalled at your lack of courtesy.

Sadly over charged after confirming price upon booking a taxi. Both collections from each location were 30 minutes past confirmed booking times however all sorted by a very understanding operations manager who took ownership of performance and applied a discount.
