Change to Commercial Passenger Vehicle Service Levy rate

From 1 July 2023, the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Service Levy (CPVSL) rate will change from $1.05 (ex GST) to $1.15 (ex GST).

This means that the CPVSL rate that you see on your trip(s) will raise from $1.16 (inc GST) to $1.25 (Inc GST)

The change is due to indexation and is in accordance with section 238 of the Commercial Passenger Vehicle Industry Act 2017.

Eureka Taxis has not been formally notified of this change by eithor the regulator (CPVV) or from the State Revenue Office (SRO) and have found this out from industry sources.

The CPVSL was introduced on 1 July 2018 and applies to every taxi and hire car trip, including ride share, originating in Victoria.

I needed to catch a ride to the train station quite early in the morning and decided to book a taxi to take me to the station. The process was simple when I booked it the night before. The operator that took my call was cautious and caring. He asked me what time my train was and advised to give myself a bit more time to get there just in case. I am glad I took the advice so that it wasn’t as rushed. On the day, I received a text to say when they were coming as well as the driver’s name. My taxi driver, Mark, arrived 5 minutes earlier than my booked time and helped me with my luggage bag. He was friendly, chatty and helpful and even offered to swing past maccas if I wanted to.Thanks for the smooth and professional process, Eureka taxi. If I need a booked ride service in the future again, I will definitely use your company again!

Lovely driver, but absolutely terrible drive due to the rear suspension being totally shot. So every bump for the hour drive hurt me- as I was in the back seat. I ended up having to hold myself up off the seat when I saw a bump coming.And it wasn’t a cheap ride either, cost me $235.I rang to complain on 13/6/25 telling them they must fix it or some poor elderly person with back pain may be injured.I didn’t get the feeling they thought it was as urgent as it is, with them saying they couldn’t get a mechanic… excuses excuses… just fix it!
